Have you ever had the feeling that something might not be right? I had been working in a HIGH STRESS, corporate environment when I realized how much it was taking away from my two young boys. I was missing special events, and was never present emotionally. Something DEFINITELY wasn’t right.
Yoga had always been a huge part of my life, and I knew the physical benefits of maintaining a practice. This felt right, so I decided to take it further. Heck, my corporate job wasn’t adding value anymore- so why not? I jumped into a yoga teacher training. At very least, as an attempt to keep my sanity. It was through this training that I began to understand the mental benefits of mindfulness and meditation. (Check out that alliteration!)
So there I was- the corporate ladder was behind me, and I started taking on clients as a private yoga instructor. BINGO. I wasn’t sure where it was going, but I knew I was on the right path.
I don’t know if you’ve ever tried, but getting people to sit down and be quiet is harder than you think. My clients needed something to FOCUS on. (Don’t we all?) So each client would receive an essential oil candle. They could concentrate on the flame when practicing balance and meditation. You would think I had it all figured out, huh?
ENTER: HORRIFIC SOCCER INJURY
Yep, I busted my ankle and my yoga biz took a nose dive. I was out for months. That’s when the depression set in.
“What am I doing with my life?”
“Why ON EARTH did I leave my cushy corporate job?”
“Have I failed my family as I know it?”
“HELL, NO!” I had to find my way out of it, and I knew that mindfulness was they key to finding my way back. I couldn’t do yoga on one leg, but I could meditate. I started.
Strange things start to happen when you take a small step in the right direction. My gurus would call it “synchronicity.”
A client called me, asking if I could refill their candle. Then, another call… and another. My mission became clear. My path was leading me right here, with all of you, bringing the ALL4YOGIS essential oil candle line to the world.
There is a fine line between what we SHOULD do and what we COULD do. To see it, we only need to sit down, bring ourselves into the present moment, and listen. It’s harder than you think, but it is SO worth it.
Thank you for taking this walk with me.
